BEIJING: China has categorically said that Kashmir issue must be resolve peacefully through the UN Security Council resolutions.
Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his interaction with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Beijing expressed serious concern over the situation arising from India’s actions by India in occupied Kashmir.
He said the issue should be resolved peacefully based on the UN Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions and bilateral agreement.
The two foreign ministers agreed that both sides would closely coordinate and consult each other on the evolving developments.
According to a statement by the foreign office, Qureshi during his talks with his Chinese counterpart during his recent trip highlighted the illegal Indian actions and stressed that no unilateral step could change the internationally recognised disputed nature of occupied Kashmir.
The foreign minister also highlighted the grave danger posed by illegal Indian actions to regional peace and security. He further shared a deep concern about the total clampdown of the occupied valley by Indian security forces and the humanitarian crisis resulting from it.
Qureshi underlined that as part of its reckless approach there could be some false flag operation and Pakistan blamed on the fake pretext of “terrorism”.
He stressed that the disputed nature of occupied Kashmir was enshrined in the UNSC resolutions, which envisaged the framework for a final settlement of occupied Kashmir dispute based on a free and fair plebiscite under the auspices of the United Nations.
