It is our priority to protect media workers right. Firdous Ashiq

Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Information & Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that it is the top most priority of our Government to facilitate the Media workers and to protect their rights.

She said that Media workers are facing severe financial problems due to non-payment or late salaries and these issues will be resolved soon after discussions with all the stakeholders.

The death of young journalist Fayyaz Ali is a tragic incident and Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued special instructions to assist the family of Fayyaz. Dr. Firdous said this while offering condolence to the family of Capital TV cameraman Fayyaz Ali’s (Late) family and with the workers of different journalist unions. She announced special support package of 10,00,000 for his family. She also announced to support his family through Benazir Income Support Program and kafalat program.

She assured to provide job to Fiaz Ali’s brother in Information Ministry and a home for his family under Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme for the needy persons.

Murder of Fayyaz Ali

Fayyaz Ali a Photo Journalist was died of a sudden heart attack few days ago. He was affiliated with Capital TV and had been suffering from severe financial problems for the last five months due to unpaid salary and was fired a few days ago.

Media organizations launched a movement by blaming the media group’s management for its sudden death. Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan also assured to investigate the cause of Fayyaz Ali’s death.
